Our purpose is to...The group's purpose is to be able to work together growing an on-site vertical and raised-bed community garden that is handicap and wheelchair accessible so that fresh, affordable, and healthy produce is available to residents. We are a residential community (45 units) of elderly/disabled individuals in subsidized housing (HUD/Section 8) with very limited income and limited transportation opportunities.We are very anxious to invest our time and efforts together in a project that will not only contribute to healthy eating, but will also create opportunities to strengthen relationships around a mutually enjoyable activity that  helps promote social interaction and education. While we are not affiliated with GrowNashua, a local not-for-profit who has received a grant from you in the past, they have agreed to help us by consulting with us so we can benefit from their experience and avoid pitfalls.
