Pittsfield Composts is focused on bringing access to composting services to those who are underserved in the city of Pittsfield. The City offers low-cost composting bins, but these are not the final solution to providing composting access. Some of our underserved and low income community members do not have the time, knowledge, or physical space to compost themselves. By collaborating with the local farmers market and the church next to the market, we aim to provide a compost drop-off area for free to those who need it. Our goals go beyond this one idea, but this is where we are able to start before moving forward with other dynamic ideas.
