Working with our many partners, Pioneer Valley Habitat for Humanity builds homes, hope, and community in Hampshire and Franklin Counties and is affiliated with Habitat for Humanity International, an ecumenical organization dedicated to assuring decent, affordable homes for people the world over.Since 1989, Pioneer Valley Habitat for Humanity has built simple, decent, affordable homes in partnership with hard-working and low wage earning families in Hampshire and Franklin counties. We build our homes with volunteer labor and donations of material, supplies, land, and services. Each home is sold with a no-interest mortgage to a low-income family, and each family is an active Habitat partner, contributing many hours of “sweat equity” to the construction of their own home. Habitat has a perpetual legacy – all mortgage funds received are re-invested to build more homes.
