Our Purpose

Our mission is to increase the resilience of the Northeast region by strengthening the regional permaculture network and increasing access to relevant education and resources. Our work is informed and guided by the following Values:1.Permaculture ethics of earth care, people care and fair share2.Transparency3.Humility4.Being of service to the greater regional permaculture community5.Reflecting the needs/issues/opportunities of the network6.Supporting decentralization, local autonomy and self-organizing across the network7.Encouraging symbiosis, cooperation and collaboration8.Valuing ecological patterns of organization9.Commitment to social justice and liberationTowards these goals, we have offered services including online webinars, discussion groups, an online toolkit and video content, fiscal sponsorship, a seasonal newsletter and administering a regional listserv. Currently, we are exploring support for more local, in-person projects through an hosting an online regional Northeast Collaboration Network.  PAN is striving to move in a more sustainable financial situation over a 2-4 year time. We envision growing our organizational procedures and structures in ways that support having a full-time staff person, and possibly other paid positions within the organization. We currently have no paid staff, only one contractor who averages 20hrs/month of labor. We envision developing a long-term 10-15 year plan for financial sustainability within the organization.
