Pelham Pathways
Our Purpose
The purpose of Pelham Pathways is to create an age-friendly community that promotes healthy aging and wellness through outdoor activities such as pickle ball, walking, and biking. The organizatin is committed to enhancing sidewalk connectivity and developing bicycle paths to ensure safe and accessible routes for all residents. We strive to foster a sustainable and active lifestyle for all ages by preserving and promoting natural resources, including conservation areas and friendly trails. Additionally Pelham Pathways is dedicated to the perpetual care of memorial plants in Pelham's Celebration Park. Through our efforts to connect communities via conservation and wellness, we aim to inspire a deeper connection with nature and outdoor recreation, making Pelham a vibrant and healthy place to live. To date the group has built benches and installed a bluebird sanctuary on a friendly trail, held 3 guided nature hikes, researched flora & fauna on these trails and produced brochures. Current efforts are to raise funds to build an All Persons Trail at Merriam Farm Conservation Area. See website Pelhamctc.org. We are holding a Fall Festival in October which focuses on conservation and have hired speakers to talk about the decline of Monarch Butterflies and living with coyotes. We have a nature/conservation questionaire where folks who get 100% enter a raffle for one of two "greenbacks". We are builidng a pollinator garden at the Celebration Park.
