In 2019, PanLyfe Project 333 became known for hosting healing circles in our local area’s to help with trauma from community violence and over policing and soon expanded our work to minimizing food insecurities in our Boston communities. With the awareness and guidance we share, we hope to offer people long, healthier lives. As we empower ourselves we learn to empower our brothers and sisters in the world.PanLyfe Project 333 became a partnering organization of the Healthy Neighborhoods Study, a ten-year Participatory Action Research (PAR) study focused on supporting communities and advancing neighborhood health and health equity in the face of neighborhood change. Last year alone, we implemented 13 new healing circles across four of our communities. In February, HNS funding ceased and the study transitioned to the Healthy Neighborhoods Network (HNN). Practitioners continued running grassroots healings circles and wanted to continue learning from eachother. Thus, a Healing Circle Community of Practice (HC CoP) began. This grant will support PanLyfe in running Healing Circle trainings to community members, leaders, and organizers, increase the number of healing circle practitioners, and support their skill development through the HC CoP. The work done in the HC CoP will expand and support healing efforts across the state, providing residents opportunities to connect, relax, and relate with one another, changing our Infrastructure of Care.
