Our Purpose

Our purpose is to.. .  Educate the community in the Upper Valley of Vermont about the traditional agricultural and gardening methods of the Abenaki Nation by building a garden, food forest and fire pit (cermonial area) depicting a traditional space where Abenaki peoples can demonstrate and teach to the public their history, traditions and agricultural practices.   The group was formed by several Abenaki tribal members and allies that want to put this demonstration project together and were able to convence a local community based organization to donate land space for this purpose.   We are raising funds and gather equipment, plants, seeds, compost and mulch necessary to make the project a success, with the encouragement of the community organization which is providing volunteers to help with the work and donations from individuals to help with costs.
