NQTA was formed in 2012 by myself a twice AT thru-hiker with a complete understanding of what a long-distance trail impact can have on the eco, social and health sustainability on the communities along its corridorThe North Quabbin region is set up in 8 geographical water basins and hilltops in a series of connected trails and ones that needed to be customized and built by NQTA The Inception goal of the 110 mile Q+M Trail with 20 overnight shelters was formedA very important evolution is the changing concept that unlike the AT as a footpath the.Q+M Experience would be a Sociability and Inclusivetivity experience for All which has turned to NQTA’s core mission statement logo.The now 250 mile Q+M Experience with 42 overnight shelters with a full inclusion of challenge mobility, traumatic brain injuries, towns, land trusts, mountain bikes, equestrians, geocache, hikers, water activities, holistic healers and herbalist as core partnersNQTA has now solidified its position as an outdoor community hub.To that end NQTA has established a three-year relationship with MIT based Grit the engineers and designers of the Freedom  Chair an all wheel drive wheelchair where we now have in place a veterans program by accessing our customized Freedom Chair Accessible Trails they can then go to their VA clinic and secure their own $3,000 chairThis Inception Q+M Experience vision is now moving into the implementation stage.
