The purpose of the group is to promote natural burial, which provides people with  end-of-life alternatives to conventional funeral and burial practices.  Natural burial provides choices that bring nature and people together to create legacies and protect the environment. The group has purchased rights to screen an award- winning documentary on natural burial and forest preservation, A Will For the Woods (see www.awillforthewoods.com).  This grant will provide funds to organize presentations in Northeast States that will include expert speakers and panels in conjunction with screening the film. This group that is focusing on the Northeast is composed of members a more geographically expansive group incorporated as North America Natural Burial, which is awaiting action on a  Section 501(c)(3) application to the US Internal Revenue Service submitted in January, 2013.
