- The mission of NH Interfaith Power and Light (NHIPL) is to inspire and mobilize people of faith and conscience to take bold and just action on energy, environment, and climate. NHIPL became active in NH out of an understanding and belief that substantive behavioral change in defense of the environment will come only when we understand the moral implications of our decisions - in essence asking and answering the question, “What does our faith make our feet do?”
- Faith communities and their leaders have long played a vital role in helping to initiate societal change. Susan Fuller, the current President of NHIPL, who revitalized the organization in 2019, understood that across New Hampshire’s diverse faith spectrum, there was a spiritual and religious commitment to care for creation. Susan saw the need in NH for more support to help faith communities come together, become engaged in learning, worshiping, and ultimately stepping up to care for all who live on Earth, our common home.
- NH IPL is committed to providing opportunities for education, worship, energy action programs, and advocacy. Because the climate crisis is enormous, no one can do this work alone. So when possible, NHIPL will work in partnership with other community and faith based organizations to better reach diverse audiences and magnify the reach and efforts of the organization.
