Our Purpose

NH healthcare workers see, in real time, the human health impacts of our changing climate, from rising heat and poor air quality to extreme weather. Our 2024 survey of NH healthcare workers revealed that large majorities of this workforce expect rates of vector-borne disease, asthma and allergies, heat stress, and mental health trauma to worsen in the next 10-20 years without action. That's why NH Healthy Climate has mobilized across the Granite State.Healthcare workers are uniquely positioned to increase public awareness of the connections between human health and climate change. Their trusted messenger voices reach diverse populations young and old, in clinicians' offices and online. NH Healthy Climate aims to support healthcare workers in educating and mobilizing the public in support of climate solutions to improve health for all by providing resources, training, and networking opportunities to enhance their ability to drive community adaptation and a transition to climate-informed care.Climate change is a global issue, but it does not impact everyone around the globe equally. NH Healthy Climate recognizes that some of those people least responsible for climate change (low-income communities, people of color, Indigenous people, children) suffer its worst impacts. We work to develop programs that promote climate justice, aiming to build sustainable systems to protect the mental and physical health of vulnerable communities across the state
