NH Healthcare Workers for Climate Action
Our Purpose
New Hampshire Healthcare Workers for Climate Action is a grassroots, nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that has been in operation since October of 2021. The organization’s mission is as follows: As healthcare workers are uniquely positioned to increase public awareness of the links between health and climate change, we seek to provide NH healthcare workers the tools to educate and mobilize the public in support of climate solutions to improve health for all. The priority of this organization is to unite an interdisciplinary and intergenerational group of healthcare workers to incorporate the impacts of climate on health into healthcare education and practices, and protect the health of NH communities, particularly the most vulnerable among us. The organization has six working groups composed of interdisciplinary groups of healthcare workers and other community members focusing their volunteer efforts on different aspects of climate and health. These groups include Climate Justice, Children’s Health, Behavioral Health, Communications & Education, Policy & Advocacy, and Climate, Food & Health. Each group works on their own respective projects relevant to the organization's mission, collaborates with the other community partners on certain projects, and assists the organization with its main campaigns and overall growth.
