Mumbet's Freedom Farm
Our Purpose
Mumbet's Freedom Farm's overarching goal is to establish a regenerative and inclusive community sanctuary rooted in Indigenous wisdom, sustainable agriculture, and social justice. Our mission is to cultivate a space where individuals, particularly those from marginalized communities, can reconnect with the land, acquire essential skills, and foster a deeper understanding of sustainable living practices. Through regenerative agriculture, educational programs, and community engagement, we aspire to address food disparities, dismantle racial inequities, and create a resilient and interconnected community. Mumbet's envisions a future where the farm serves as a model for sustainable living, fosters inclusivity, and actively contributes to the well-being of both people and the planet. Our commitment to diversity, equity, and community-driven initiatives underpins our big picture goal of fostering positive change, promoting social justice, and creating a transformative space for individuals to thrive. We understand the land to be a living relative that sustains us beyond the material, therefore healing our relationship with and to her is at the center of our work. Ecosystem stewardship will be a heavy responsibility handed down to the future generations. It is our duty to provide land- and skills-based education for the next generations so that they may continue to carry out and amplify this work, and successfully navigate in a fast-changing world.
