Our Purpose

to understand and respond proactively to the evolving physical, social and economic needs of the neighborhood and community. We accomplish this through educational programs such as the Sense of Pride, our Middle School and High School Mentoring Program, the Marine Trades Job Training Program for adults and young adults, and our Store Front Improvement Program that supports neighborhood business. Our name, Mosaico, represent the concept that life is a mosaic: a distinct combination of interrelated parts that form a comprehensive and effective whole.

Summary of Projects

The group received a grant in 2009 to implement a new community garden with 48 family plots available to anyone in Bristol, but with priority if need (income level assessed) considered. The garden is a new effort undertaken in collaboration with the Bristol Department of Parks and Recreation, the Department of Welfare, the Bristol Rotary Club, and Mosaico CDC. The centrally located, easily accessible, town owned site will help families supplement their diet with fresh, healthy produce that they grow themselves in a supportive, community environment.
