  • After tasting and exploring the differences in clementines vs. blood oranges, students worked on a coloring activity and we read the book 'I can Eat a Rainbow'..
  • Herb boxes from our LSSU gardens that are in each school cafeteria in our district.  We are able to use fresh, local herbs all year long.
  • Garlic harvest hanging near our wood-fired pizza oven used in community and school events.
  • Garden Club students helping to construct raised bed garden boxes

Our Purpose

The Lamoille South Supervisry Union Farm to School (FtS) Program's mission is to nurture and encourage our students to foster the following relationships:A relationship with the land: respect for our collective space, recognize the beauty of our community, as well as a basic understanding of soil health and general care for the earth.A relationship with community: offer opportunities for our students to have an impact as well as feel pride and ownership over the effect they can have in our small town. A relationship with learning and self: knowing where our food comes from, cultivationg and encouraging curiosity, an appreciation for the physical work that goes into our food and maintaing land use, and to find comfort and a connection to their food.
