Our Purpose

The Montpelier Energy Advisory Committee is an advisory group to the Montpelier City Council on energy issues, assisting with both policy and implementation, in order to meet the city's net zero by 2030 goal for municipal energy users and by 2050 for all municipal, residential and commercial energy users.  The Committee helps manage a revolving loan fund for municipal energy projects, and also takes on projects to assist Montpelier home and business owners reduce their dependence on fossil fuels and non-renewable sources of energy. The Window Dressers Workshop is a volunteer based project to assemble custom measured interior storm window inserts, with up to half being provided to low income households for little or no cost.
