Our purpose is to provide low-income, chronically ill children the items needed to attend special needs summer camps and programs. Camps and retreats for children with chronic illnesses are expensive, and even with scholarships, the children need a lot of materials to attend. These materials can range from clothing, bedding, toiletries, towels, etc. These extra expenses prevent some families from sending their children to these medical camps. At the medical camps the children not only learn how to better manager their chronic conditions but they build a love for the outdoors, find a support network of others going through the same, and build life-changing friendships. Our mission is to provide these children with all that they need to attend so the families have less financial burden in sending their child. We are also starting to focus on Community Education on Type 1 diabetes compared to Type 2 diabetes. Type 1 is very different from Type 2 medically and requires different needs in emergencies. We intend to provide education and resources to first responders to assist them in their ability to help in emergencies.
