The Medomak Valley High School Horticulture Project has a number of important goals, including raising student awareness about the importance of sound and sustainable agricultural practices. Middle and High School students participate in a variety of agriculturally based projects, including our historic seed saving project, the MVHS Living Arboretum. Students are also actively growing and harvesting healthy vegetables for our district schools lunch program and for local food banks. We feel strongly that student achievement increases when students are engaged in meaningful “hands on” projects that increase their understanding of the subject matter.
