MassEnergize Wayland was started by a group of community organizers in Wayland, MA, who believe in harnessing the collective power of local residents for the care of our shared earth by reducing greenhouse gas emissions and raising local resilience. In brief, our goal is to provide residents, small businesses and non-profits with the tools and resources to make positive changes in the way that they live.To do so we have created a platform (both face-to-face and online) where residents can find a comprehensive menu of ways to reduce their carbon footprint. For example, we offer options for clean energy, waste management, clean transportation, local food sources, local activists groups, and more.MassEnergize enables climate action groups to reach more people with more opportunities to act, to seek the services and products of more partners, educates people, creates a proactive culture of awareness and hope... resulting in more, faster climate change mitigation and adaptation into local resilience. The pilot in Wayland has already made community, volunteers, partners, and collaborating organizations more enthusiastic and hopeful. In the many years they have worked on climate action, they have never seen such impact.
