Our Purpose

The Massachusetts Environmental Education Society (MEES) is dedicated to the promotion, preservation, and improvement of environmental education in the state and region. MEES is a professional organization that exists to build environmental and climate literacy in Masssachusetts through convening networks of informal environmental educators, farm-based educators, social justice educators classroom teachers, and organizations–builing collective capacity, skills, and knoweledge to lead us to a more just and sustaninable communities. We work at a statewide level to empower and advocate for environmental educators to have impacts at the local and regional level. Currently MEES offers trainings, conferences, and curriculum support to bring more broad-based ecological learning to learners of all ages and backgrounds.  MEES believes that through our networked model we can best support our goal of having an evironmental and climate literate populace.
