Our Purpose

Our purpose is to create a stronger equitable food economy through urban gardening and connecting with other like non and for profit organizations. Starting with the six community gardens across the city of Manchester that we have founded and operated in order to create better access for underserved populations needing fresh produce in the neighborhoods around them. Next, with the larger general population by slowly forming relationships with community champions and stakeholders to inform them of the symbiotic relationship community gardens/ green spaces have on the neighborhoods we live in. We are in the early stages of business planning with the three primary goals being: 1. Distribution of vegetating/flowering plants and their produce to underserved communities for free (pop up farmers markets) and for profit businesses (corner markets and restaurants) for low costs in order to create and gain knowledge of regional food demand. 2. Experimenting the production of new crops and the yields of them. 3. Extending of grow season through green house, hoop-house, and aquaculture practices. The end goal is for this nonprofit organization to be a hub for urban gardening through education, research of supply/demand needs, and procurement of produce from the larger region in order to get it to all communities looking to have a stronger more equitable local food economy.
