Maine Smarts-N-Crafts provides education, tools, and shared learning that strengthen resilience and enable people to safely participate in building equitable, just, and inclusive communities. We endeavor to reduce dependence on corporate subscriptions for data storage/ digital tool use in favor of hyper-local open source hardware and software. We do this by teaching zine designers and 3d print makers how to use open-source software and hardware. This will reduce dependency on costly subscription models. We believe that freely sharing knowledge, information, ideas, and tools starting from the center out and from the bottom up of hyper-local communities is activism and resistance focused on justice.
