Living Communities Foundation
Our Purpose
We provide a building with free meeting space for area groups, host a Food Pantry (some food is delivered), offer a huge organic Community Garden with over 100 kinds of edible plants, supporting the Pantry, and, before COVID, sponsored educational potluck dinner-and-a-movie nights. We also host a Native Drum, The Great ThunderChicken Drum, open and free to all for weekly practice sessions. We address food insecurity, social isolation, aging issues, and community sustainability in a poor, rural area. This is an all-volunteer group with no funding from the Town or State.
