Our purpose is to create a vibrant community market and food hub on an urban plaza adjacent to Lewiston's Kennedy Park and the Tree Street Neighborhood to provide solutions to the area’s need for:

• Low-cost nutritious food
• Culturally preferred produce and staples
• Dry and cold storage
• Skills development
• Business incubation in a commercial kitchen
• Community access to a fully equipped kitchen
• Community gathering space

The Lewiston Auburn Community Market (LACM) is a community-owned multi-stakeholder cooperative downtown Lewiston grocery store and food center and will be located in new construction on the one-acre site of the former Lewiston Police Station. 

The LACM proposes to strengthen the local food economy by supporting and building upon existing infrastructure as well as connecting local food producers to markets and food aggregation opportunities. Providing local healthy and culturally preferred staples and perishables to downtown residents and general consumers, the Lewiston Auburn Community Market will also provide shared commercial and training kitchens and dry/cold storage for local producers. The LACM will include a full grocery store scaled to fit a downtown setting, including grab and go foods produced in the market’s kitchen and an indoor and sidewalk cafe to enhance the feeling of quality of life near Kennedy Park.
