Our purpose is to hold space and nurture childrens' connection with eachother and the natural world around them. We are a non-profit organization, all volunteer-led at this time. We formed as a group the day that our childrens' school community announced that it would be shutting down next year.  We soon found out there are no other local, small, nature based education options out there for our children. That same day a seed was planted between Gen and Kelli, two parents of children at this school. They decided it could be them to step up and provide a special community and educational expereince for these children. The biggest missing piece to making this happen was funding, that is where I come in. I was an educator at MRS, also have young children, and some grant writing experience. I volunteered to help manifest this vision, as I know there is a tremedous need for children to feel loved and connected in an increasingly disconnected modern world.  I would like my children to be a part of such a community. While we are still forming our school, we have a strong mission statement and a lot of passionate energy. At Lamoille Valley Farm and Forest School our mission is to foster resilient and adaptable children who are also lifelong learners with a deep connection to their community and nature. We aspire to offer a comprehensive learning opportunity that combines academic learning with a strong emphasis on place-based education and social emotional growth.
