Klassy Katz Elite Dance Team Inc., doing business as Long Legacy Arts and Family Empowerment Project (Long Legacy), was founded to empower young people and families in Greater Hartford through dance, the arts, mentorship, and community engagement. Our big-picture goal is to build a healthier, more equitable community where every young person has the resources, support, confidence, and opportunities needed to thrive.As our relationships with families deepened, we saw that creative and personal growth are difficult to sustain when basic needs—especially access to nutritious food—go unmet. Addressing food insecurity is therefore a natural extension of our commitment to youth development, family wellness, and equity.Through our new public community pantry project, we will provide consistent access to nutritious, culturally relevant food in a welcoming and dignified setting. The pantry will also serve as a place for connection, education, mutual support, and youth leadership. By combining the arts, mentorship, and hands-on community service, we help young people see themselves not only as dancers and performers, but as leaders capable of strengthening their community.We do this work because every child and family deserves to be nourished in body, mind, and spirit. We envision a community where people’s basic needs are met, families feel supported, and young people use their creativity and leadership to create lasting change.
