The purpose of our group is:The Katahdin Collaborative facilitates communication and fosters collaboration among local economic and community development groups, volunteer groups, businesses, non-profit institutions, and municipalities, and citizens working together in the Katahdin Region. The Katahdin Collaborative has coordinated a regional visioning process called “Katahdin Gazetteer: a roadmap to the future.” The process is a locally led, region-wide process to capture the values of the people in the region, develop a vision for the future based on those values, and create an action plan for local implementation. This process will take approximately 12 months to complete. The Katahdin Gazetteer is the first region-wide initiative to create a long-term vision and action plan for the future.
