Jamaica Plain New Economy Transition (JP NET) is a neighborhood effort to create a local economy that works for everyone in harmony with the planet. JP NET connects actions for environmental and economic justice to build a resilient community across race and class. Jamaica Plain is a diverse “majority minority” Boston neighborhood, with million dollar homes and 22% of families living below the poverty line. JP NET is working to create a vibrant community for all neighbors and resist the waves of gentrification that are displacing neighbors of color by building a strong base of “people power.”
