Our purpose is to advance immigrant women in business. The women of Isuken Co-op originally formed as an all-women steering committee to start a Somali-Bantu Farm to Table Food Truck because they wanted to demonstrate that immigrant women entrepreneurs/farmers could become leaders in the food system in Lewiston. It remains a core value of Isuken Co-op to advance immigrant women in business and serve their community with opportunities in growing produce on their leased land, support other Somali business incubation, and teach cooking classes for other start-up social enterprise food business.
