Our purpose is to bring together the Indian Orchard community to promote wellbeing and empowerment. Youth in Indian Orchard have been marginalized not only by race and ethnicity but also by distance from City Hall. There is no Boys and Girls Club out here or other activities for youth. In recent years the IOCC has brought light to this and has implemented activities for youth including a soccer camp, youth sports and chess. We are looking to expand on this by doing Movies in the Park in the summer and a Car Show starting in May. Our annual Food Truck Festival encourages local youth to showcase their talents and get compensated. We want to expand on these and let the youth take advantage of opportunities such as financial literacy, entrepreneurship and public speaking workshops.
