Our Purpose

With the help of a consultant from Walden Behavioral and community collaborations we are introducing an initiative to address the need for early screening of eating disorder behavior and to assure the Eating Disorder Prevention in Schools Act of 2020 (H.R.6703) is implement in our public schools. We raise awareness about the many faces of eating disorders and the inequalities those with these disorders face. Due to great need within our community our mission has expanded to help provide opportunities for empowerment, inclusion and equal opportunities for low and moderate income youth and adults, in the BIPOC community. We observed the negative statistics yearly of youth and young adults in our black communities, especially in terms of low educational attainment and less employment opportunities, among others. These social inequities make the world unequal for them, in addition to the fact that they already come from low-income communities and families. Hence, our mission is to make the world a better place for them. We have designed programs that teach skills that will help them develop careers, build entreprenuership opportunities and provide resources that will make them valuable asset in our community. We will continue to work closely with those who feel overlooked or unheard. Being unseen can stunt our ability to find true healing and learn how to love ourselves. We believe by creating EQUAL access to resources and opportunities we can create a more equal America.
