Harpswell Aging at Home
Our Purpose
Harpswell Aging at Home (HAH) is a grassroots community organization created, maintained, and led by older Harpswell residents committed to fostering low-cost or no-cost initiatives that help older adults thrive while aging at home. According to the 2015 town survey results, more than one-third of older Harpswell residents do not have enough resources to meet basic expenses, so many cannot pay for food, simple home repair and help with chores. Current programs include: the Home Repair team members who significantly have improved 80 homes in Harpswell by insulating, adding safety features and many other repairs; Transportation team drivers who provide rides for Harpswell seniors; Health and Wellness group sponsors health screenings and recreational and education programs; Home Helpers who clean and do trash removal, plus the subject of this request, the Food Team who provide much needed meals.
