Hanover Conservancy
Our Purpose
The Hanover Conservancy the oldest local land trust in New Hampshire, works to protect land and water and inspire appreciation of the natural world, through programs in land conservation, stewardship, education, and advocacy.
Lands Committee of the Hanover Conservancy - the purpose of this group is to develop and propose conservation priorities and practices for the organization that are consistent with the Standards and Practices of the Land Trust Alliance, and will help propel the Conservancy toward accreditation as a land trust that abides by nationally accepted standards. Our land trust must function at a high level with several key partner organizations, the Town of Hanover's Conservation Commission and the Upper Valley Land Trust, as well as a number of others. The confidence of the community is essential to our sustainability and to our success, and requires a well-thought-out set of priorities for how and where we spend our staff and financial resources to protect land.
