Our Purpose

It was in 2001 that Depot Development Corporation proposed a plan to develop a Dunkin Donuts, eight gas pumps (including diesel), a convenience store, and another non-designated retail space on the corner and intersection of Rt. 121 (Main Street Hampstead) and Depot Road This plan was not approved and although Depot Development appealed, the Superior Court denied the appeal and upheld the decision of the planning board. Depot Development is now proposing this same plan and the current planning board approved it. Our group is appealing this plan. We also feel that the developers have sidestepped the law in some issues to present their plan. We are appealing for many reasons, which include traffic increase and safety, noise, lighting, contamination from a gasoline spill into our wells, an impact on an important aquifer (another one was destroyed years ago in Hampstead), an adverse effect on Ordway Park and the Rockingham Trail that abuts this parcel owned by Depot Development.
