Our Purpose

to create a culture of gardening in Burlington's Old North End. Through gardening, Grow Team O.N.E. aims to cultivate community leadership and learning through service. More specifically, Grow Team O.N.E.'s goals are to be a resource to residents who want to learn about growing, harvesting and preserving food; facilitate the creation of sustainable home and neighborhood gardens; connect residents looking for garden space with homeowners; improve access to fresh produce for Old North End residents; implement urban permaculture design principals; and build social capital and strengthen community ties in the Old North End.

Summary of Projects

The group received a grant in 2008 to provide Archibald Neighborhood Garden participants with the resources they need to grow their own produce; to build community among gardeners; and to create a welcoming gardening space for Old North End (O.N.E.) residents through community workshops, communal herb beds, and expanded outreach efforts in the neighborhood.
