Our Purpose

to create a just sustainable, livable, walkable community for all, at the core of urban Boston. To accomplish this mission, the group is establishing a Green Innovation District in Grove Hall, a Boston Neighborhood, that can serve as a flexible, adaptable model for similar communities. The group is affiliated with Greater Grove Hall Main Streets, which is acting as the fiscal agent. The Green Innovation District will incentivize environmental innovation by seeding/incentivizing green business in this low-income community. The initiative connects the dots between: policy/funding mechanisms for inner city neighborhoods such as Empowerment Zone, environmental "greening" knowledge and education with organizations such as Earthos and Franklin Park Zoo, Main Streets local business relationships and technical assistance, and partnerships with area universities for science, design and technical innovation coaching.
