Pittsfield Middle High School is dedicated to putting students at the center of their learning. Our Green Thumbs Greenhouse learning studio is a credit bearing project that we have designed based on our interests. Our vision is to build a permanent, functioning greenhouse at Pittsfield Middle High School. This will benefit our school community by teaching members of our school community about the responsibility and maintenance needed to take care of something. This will provide an opportunity for classes to use the greenhouse and enrich academic experiences. This also provides more learning opportunities that are hands on for our students which matches with our school mission of student centered learning. We are also promoting environmental responsibility within our community. This would benefit more than just classes but would generate healthy and safe opportunities for students after school. Overall this would improve schools culture and climate.
