The Greater Newburyport Eco Collaborative received a grant in 2009 to initiate and coordinate two carbon emission reduction initiatives in a way that united their community through the collaborative actions of individuals, reducing household carbon emissions and fostering ongoing support for ramping up energy use change in the entire community.

Our Purpose
to "Foster a Greener, Greater Newburyport" in two ways. First, to support the plans, activities, and programs of collaborating parties and second, to plan, organize, and communicate green initiatives when a more broad-based collaborative approach will be most successful.
