Our Purpose

Our mission is the long-term protection and conservation of the Great Bay estuarine system by supporting education, land protection, research and stewardship of Great Bay, in partnership with the Great Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve and other like-minded organizations. The Stewards play an integral role in a variety of programs associated with the Reserve. Through fundraising events, private donations, and educational programs, funds are made available to protect Great Bay for future generations.  NOTE: the group applied for a grant June 1999. It was for: 'To fund a portion of the GReat Bay Kid's Ecology Club which promotes a new apprach to youth development that challenges at-risk 4th and 5th graders - teaching them to be 'community stewards' as they learn important ecological concepts'. The $ amount for this is unknown. This application was a 'Not Fund'.
