to build a stellar web application where users pay it forward by giving goods and services to their neighbors and local non-profits, earning the gratitude and generosity of others in return. GiftFlow encourages users to post their goods and services as 'gifts' and 'needs'. By sharing this information with the GiftFlow community, a user can participate in a local network of giving that prevents waste, reduces consumption and alleviates inequality. We are an open-source web start-up. All of our code is available online for others to use however they wish. We hope that others work to form similar networks in their own cities. Our focus is on building a successful network in our home town of New Haven Connecticut. GiftFlow works to provide people with a free and sustainable alternative to the consumer economy.
