Our purpose is to address the opioid epidemic, specifically within the BIPOC and immigrant community here in Maine. It will be focusing on Finding the best way to make accessible, retain, engage and support BIPOC individuals seeking to end their substance use dependency. And finding culturally responsive peer recovery support. Generational Noor will be hosting dialogue spaces to name and confront the stigma that surrounds the topic of opioid addiction. We will also be infusing a component called “Generational Road to Recovery'' that focuses on culturally responsive and sensitive recovery options, training for parents and community leaders, and training for recovery providers.We have had several amazing roundtables in Lewiston and Portland with about 40 youth and adults coming to each . We have also had Narcan Trainings. Our launch party was September 2nd 2022 with over 130 community members coming to support us and supporting our mission .
