Gears of Change is a youth-led media project and educational platform which uses stories and the power of personal narratives to challenge the current economic paradigm and empower the climate justice movement. Through use of strategic media and social networking, we aim to connect the international climate justice movement to local and regional environmental struggles in the northeastern US. As youth, we approach issues in a way that amplifies the concerns of future generations and young people. While much of our journalism focuses on the "cons" of issues like fossil fuel extraction and energy development, we also strive to support and advance the positive work that youth are participating in today to discover truly innovative solutions to the multiple crises facing modern society. Gears of Change is a fiscally-sponsored project of Global Justice Ecology Project, based out of Hinesburg, VT. GJEP does not fund our work, although key members of GJEP sit on our Board of Advisors.
