Our Purpose

Friends of Veasey Park is a volunteer-led nonprofit working in partnership with the Town of Groveland, MA and Veasey Memorial Park. Veasey Park is a self-sustaining town park, on 48 acres of conservation land.  For 30 years, the town park and building has remained affordable for use and open to the public. Our board and volunteers come from all walks of life, united by a love for this landscape and a desire to keep it accessible, beautiful, and welcoming for all. We focus our efforts across three core pillars: Stewardship, Affordable Programming, and Preservation. We bring stewardship, creativity, sustainability and community engagement together, maintaining the grounds, improving facilities, and designing inclusive, affordable programming inviting everyone to enjoy the park in their own way. FOV is instrumental in raising funds for Veasey Park. Proceeds from events and our annual appeal are allocated to a scholarship for local high school students, affordable events and development of innovative programs in the arts & sciences catering to diverse age groups and skill levels, fostering creativity and expression. Funds may be used to invest in the maintenance and improvement of our facility, allowing us to provide a safe and inspiring environment for the public to enjoy. Parks like Veasey don’t survive on sentiment alone. They survive because people choose to care about keeping this land vibrant today so that future generations can enjoy it too.
