In the Spring of 2013, the "Friends" funded the construction of four 4 x 12 raised vegetable garden beds primarily to be used as a teaching tool to encourage organic gardening practices. Weekly gardening sessions were conducted by Library staff in conjunction with The Summer Reading Program: DIG INTO READING. Revenue for the project was raised through donor solicitation and through the proceeds of a plant sale and raffle which was held on May 25, 2013.
