Our Purpose

We seek to ensure that Fellsmere Park, an Olmsted-designed park in Malden, MA, is sustained and improved, and we also seek to ensure that the open space on the site of the former Malden Hospital that adjoins both Fellsmere Park and Medford, MA, becomes a passive recreational site serving the residents of both communities. Our name comes from Fellsmere (representing the Malden neighborhood around the park) and Fulton Heights, the Medford neighborhood around the park and hospital site. We are on the verge of achieving our major goal of preserving the land, and need now to transform our  community into one actively planning and working for our new park, as well as the older park. We need to expand both our leadership groug and our active supporter base demographically in terms of age, ethnicity, and neighborhoods within our two cities.
