Our purpose is to preserve the Malden/Medford 18-acre site that housed the old Malden area hospital.  Creation of Fellsmere Community Park on this 18-acre site will complement the abutting 18-acre historic Olmsted-designed Fellsmere Park and continue the legacy of Malden Hospital that served the health and well-being needs of the Malden/Medford community for over one hundred years.  Malden is in critical need of additional recreation and open space, having the second-lowest percentage of protected open space in the Boston area.  As Malden Hospital has touched the lives of so many people in the Malden and metropolitan-Boston area, support for creating Fellsmere Community Park will have high visibility.
