Our Purpose

to create and maintain a vibrant, healthy green space to bridge communities and serve as a model for eco-friendly living and community for the other 95 parks in the city of Providence. We were the first truly active 'Friends' Group and revitalized a multi acre city park that had been completely unusable. We used a careful mix of landscaping, wild space and creative ideas to mix fitness, community and green using ecological principles.

Summary of Projects

The Friends group received a grant in 2007 for ground cover and planting as the group is revitalizing of Brown Street Park, located between the College Hill and Mt. Hope neighborhoods on Providence's East Side.
