Our Purpose

The Friends of Belle Isle Marsh aims to preserve and protect the Belle Isle Marsh, a remnant of the vast tidal wetland that once dominated the Boston Harbor Basin. Bordered by Boston, Revere, and Winthrop, it is the largest salt marsh left in Boston, providing multiple benefits to the human communities around it, which includes mitigation of storm impact and other consequences of climate change.
