Our Purpose

Our purpose is to reclaim historically vacant urban lots and convert them into compact urban farms. We provide community spaces that facilitate safe community interaction, mutual aide, environmental stewardship & education, sound open-air green space for activation, and transform urban blight into transformative and reparative oasis. Farmers Collaborative is a USDA and City of Boston recognized urban farm.  A primary pillar of Farmers Collaborative is the power of identity & cultural narrative. We believe that food is but one thread of the narrative approach and consequently lies at the intersection of the pillar of economic Empowerment. Our theory of change is that the interplay of these two pillars will bring about meaningful, equitable and lasting positive social change. Farmers Collaborative currently operates six (6) compact farm sites.
