Our Purpose
The group's purpose is to raise awareness of the social injustices caused by climate disruption, while reconnecting action on social justice issues to a life of faith, in order to inspire people of faith to act. As we succeed in this, we will also be providing tools for people to help them act, and create larger action, in their own faith (and secular) communities.
Our first project is the Our Children, Climate, Faith Symposium, August 16 & 17, in Strafford, VT. Bringing together strong pluralistic / interfaith speakers, lay and ordained, our agenda follows a narrative to bring to light the connections indicated above. Toward the conclusion of the symposium, the participants will be assisted in creating the messages and ideas for action to help them spread the message into their own communities.
Our goal is to strongly activate the faith and spiritual communities to action on climate disruption, similar to the historic civil rights, anti-apartheid, and anti-poverty movements.
