Explore Moose Mountains is a grassroots, non-profit initiative working to promote the WONDERFUL in the Moose Mountains Region of New Hampshire. A project of the 501(c)3 parent entity, Wentworth Economic Development Corporation, Explore Moose Mountains began in 2014 when a group of engaged citizens contacted Strafford Regional Planning Commission (SRPC) for technical assistance related to regional tourism. These individuals were interested in encouraging tourists to explore the unique scenic, historic, agricultural, recreational and cultural offerings off NH Routes 16 and 11 in the towns of Brookfield, Farmington, Middleton, Milton, New Durham, Wakefield, and Wolfeboro.We are motivated to do this work because while our rural region is full of natural beauty, public and accessible recreational opportunities, and local artisans, farms, and businesses, the "Moose" Region is not yet "on the map" as a destination for visitors. EMM exists to change this so as to transform the local economy so that local businesses thrive.
